A little clarity
goes a long way.
Useful starting points for a more informed conversation about borrowing.
YOUR QUESTIONS
Before we talk.
What can a first conversation cover?+
We can discuss your goals, current financial position, timing and the type of lending you need. You do not need to have found a property or made a final decision to start a conversation.
Do you help with more than home loans?+
Yes. Reliance also supports business finance, equipment finance, commercial transactions and the preparation of lending proposals. Explore the lending solutions pages for more detail.
Can you work with my accountant?+
Yes. Working alongside your accountant and other advisers is part of our consultative approach, particularly when business structures or complex transactions are involved.
What should I prepare?+
Start with an outline of your income, existing debts, savings and goals. For business enquiries, financial statements and a summary of the proposed transaction are useful. Specific requirements will be discussed with you.
Will refinancing always save money?+
No. The rate, loan term, features, exit costs and new loan fees all matter. Extending the term may reduce a monthly repayment while increasing total interest. A review should consider the full picture.
Is loan approval guaranteed?+
No. Every lender applies its own credit assessment and eligibility criteria. Approval, terms and timing depend on the application and supporting information.
How do I find out about fees?+
Ask about any broker fees, lender charges and commissions at the beginning of your enquiry. Have the costs and relevant disclosures explained before deciding to proceed.
Let’s talk about
what comes next.
A conversation about your goals is a good place to start.
